DC Laval
Derek is the co-author of a book about Brunel’s tunnel under the Thames – “Brunel’s tunnel…and where it led.” He was involved in the compilation of its sequel – “Brunel’s Tunnel” in May 2006. A lifelong science fiction and fantasy reader, he has latterly taken to writing and collaborating with his daughter Frances in writing various fantasy novels.
Derek has over 30 years of senior executive management experience in the telecommunications and computer industries. For most of his working life he has specialised in corporate and marketing strategy.
In addition to his technical background, he has always been interested in the arts. As a young man he did a considerable amount of amateur acting and directed several plays. In later years he became more interested in writing and poetry, particularly rhyming poetry.

Frances lives and works in London, UK and has previously been published in a variety of magazines: Crossing the Border, Monomyth, Legend and Scriptor-3. Most recently, her short stories have appeared in online magazines: Liquid Imagination, Aurora Wolf, The Lorelei Signal, Bewildering Stories and The WiFiles.
